Shri Purna Darapuneni

President of IDST (2023 & 24)

Shri Purna Darapuneni, has been elected as the President of IDST for the period 2023-24 during the Council meeting held on December 13, 2022 at Hyderabad.

Shri Purna Darapuneni born on 16 July 1957 at Medepalli, Khammam dist, Telangana. He graduated from JNTU, Hyderabad and joined in DRDO as Scientist ‘B’ in 1986 at DLRL Hyderabad. During his service, his expertise was in development of Point to Multi-point communication systems for Programme AKASH and SAMYUKTA. The systems are deployed into the Indian Army.

He is a member of IETE and IEI, Hyderabad chapter. He superannuated in July 2017 as Scientist ‘G’. Post retirement, he joined as a member in IDST and elected as Chairman, Hyderabad branch for the periods 2019-20 & 2021-22.

Shri Purna Darapuneni has assume the office as President of IDST at the 19^th Annual General Meeting of the Institute held at Hyderabad on December 14, 2022.
